Your full-day tour begins with a trip from Antalya to Kekova. Not only is Kekova filled with ruins from antiquity, it is one of the area’s most attractive picturesque yachting destinations.
A boat will take you to the extraordinary underwater ruins of the sunken city of Simena and you’ll visit the noteworthy Lycian necropolis at Teimiussa. You can swim and snorkel if you like, so don't forget your bathing suit and towel. The boat trip takes around 1.5-2 hours.
Continue to Myra by land, and enjoy a lunch break when you arrive. After lunch you’ll explore the site of the settlement that was one of the 6 prominent cities of Lycia.
The ruins of the Roman and Lycian town are mostly covered by alluvial silts, although the Acropolis, the Roman Theater, and Roman Baths have been excavated.
In 141, the theater was destroyed by an earthquake, but it was rebuilt afterwards. There are 2 necropolises at the site, both Lycian rock tombs with temple faces carved into the vertical cliffs at Myra.
Next you’ll visit the Church of St. Nicholas. St. Nicholas of Myra was the Eastern Orthodox Bishop of Myra in the 4th century and later became world-famous as Father Christmas and Santa Claus. The church has been restored.
After visiting the church you’ll return to Antalya and dropped back to your hotel.
